Visa Interview

Today, day of all stress: The Visa interview!

The day started early (too early considering the time of the night we switched the TV off last night) and stress was at its max! Why? Well, we’ve heard so many stories from friends, colleagues about previous visa application, knowing that our stuff are possibly already in transit over the Atlantic Ocean, that any issue with this step of the process would have had dramatic consequences (more camping, flights changes, etc)…

But I must admit one thing… I was totally impressed by the efficiency of the machine we faced today… Interview at 10:00am, we were told to arrive around 9:00-9:30 to ensure smooth processing and short queues… Well, we were out, stamped-paid-here-paid-there-all-set-thank-you by 10:00am SHARP!!

We were so happy about this that we had to celebrate and ended up having a little glass of Champagne at the Ritz (had to borrow a tie to enter the jacket-and-tie-only-bar) and lunch at one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant! Yeepeeh!

So the last major step has now been completed… with success… we are now on stand by before departure!

And we were almost crying reading about your last night in flat D and the leaving drinks that we missed…
