Geek/Kid Dream - Meet the W3C

Img_0538

Another box ticked in my kid's (or young adult) dreams list...

Many years ago, when living in Paris and coding web pages by hand, I would never have hoped to ever attend a W3C meeting (the main international standards organization for the World Wide Web), let alone participate in a panel there...

Well, all I can say is done and done!

Mr Kervern, you were right!

Honey, I'm (almost) home!

P552

Yup. I am almost home, at least almost at LAX. Then driver, car, 405 North and with some luck, within an hour, I'll be home.

I know... All electronic devices should be switched off, seat backs and tray tables should be in upright positions...
I simply couldn't help snapping that view of Downtown LA from above.
Please, do not report me...

Quick visit to Little Tokyo

It is no secret I love Japanese food or am fond of Little Tokyo.

So I take every chance I can to take the family there and enjoy a Katsu Curry, a hot ramen or some food shopping during which none of the labels make sense.

This weekend was no exception and we drove the 50 miles to downtown LA, had a great lunch, bought some Japanese sweets and took a couple of shots of the Space Shuttle memorial and the Friendship Knot at the entrance of Weller Court.

Can I go every weekend?

Offsite meeting at Universal City Walk

(download)

Spent the day today at Universal City Walk for a team building / all hands exercise. 50% presentations, 50% bowling, 5% visit to Gamespot and a bonus 10% spent playing tourist for once there.
Plus points of the day: No death by PowerPoint! France beat England 2-1 at soccer and the game was displayed above our bowling lane... Sweet!
