As much as I despise the Beckhams and the publicity stunt around their arrival in Los Angeles, one thing that has changed over the last couple of weeks is that the beautiful sport, the footie or the soccer on this side of the pond had got finally noticed by the medias and doesn’t seem to be any longer “that sport loved by the Mexican community!”…
Apart from the red carpet laid down at LAX for the Becks’ arrival, the stupid documentary about Posh moving to the US and the Chelsea vs. Galaxy game last weekend, it seems that even the notorious LA Times is embracing the trend and this morning, as I opened my daily delivered newspaper, I was shocked to see that football had its own section alongside the Calendar section, the California section and the 2 tons of adds wrapped inside the paper!
Next step: They might start to hire some real players and finally acquire some footbalistic skills!
